Yucatan’s cultural richness encompasses its gastronomy, full of flavors, textures and colors that blend the best of two worlds on our table. 


Our secret? 

Chef Florencio Narváez (with more than 30 years of experience and unwavering passion), rescues the inherited Mayan and Hispanic culinary traditions and combines them to create a propositional culinary concept; a gastronomic selection that includes dishes that have been served in haciendas for ages as well as more contemporary recipes, in order to present an unforgettable feast.

 

It doesn't matter if you taste a “panucho”, the simplest and most representative of our regional appetizers, that delicious corn tortilla stuffed with refried black beans, topped with shredded turkey meat and a mixture of grated romaine lettuce, tomato and onion, or a “papadzul”, handmade corn tortillas, stuffed with hard-boiled egg and bathed in a delicate pumpkin seed cream topped with tomato sauce…The authentic flavors of the old recipes that have made our regional cuisine famous. 


All the dishes in our menu are prepared by our chefs, with the touch and flavor of a living kitchen; Through taste and sight, they share the secret of tradition with us and make Sotuta a place where eating is also an encounter with culture. 


Each dish you try in our restaurant carries the seal of quality and tradition that distinguishes us. Cochinita pibil? Perfect, we prepare it to be cooked underground, with wood heat and following all the aspects that the traditional recipe require. 


Do you like fish? Try the chef's recipe, or some “Lol tacos,” (house creation), or a steak with garlic sauce. Whether you prefer surf or turf, you and your family will find an option in our menu to enjoy the rich and varied Yucatecan cuisine, in a very local atmosphere, and always served as one would do at home, because Sotuta de Peón is your home in Yucatan.

At Sotuta de Peón we are also an open window to the world; we are aware that our visitors come from diverse places, traditions and preferences. 

For this reason, additional to our gourmet regional cuisine, we have designed appetizers and main dishes to fulfill the tastes and needs of vegetarian guests, with recipes that take care of the ingredients, without sacrificing the quality and flavors that distinguishes us, but also attending to the details that are important for the various food trends, vegetarian-vegan etcetera. 

We offer you freshly squeezed fruit juices, tropical, seasonal fruits, high-altitude coffee prepared in the moment, salt free of fluoride and chemicals, and if you prefer, when you come to stay with us, we design your menu so that you have a total experience.
